Stubborn: Like all Icelandic Horses, Em is extremely stubborn. If someone tells her that she can't do something, she will do it or die trying
Righteous: She has a strong sense of morality. She disagrees with the way the Bachelor herd is run, the way the Olde herd depends on the unicorns to come back and generally the abuse of others.
Rational: Em is quite rational. She does not follow in blind faith like almost everyone else on her island does. She questions everything and tries not to be too quick to judge, although sometimes she is a bit too rash.
Kind: Em can be kind to those she believes deserve her kindness. She is likely to go out her way to help a drowning rat or a butterfly caught in a spider's web.
Hot-headed: She is very easily angered if you push her buttons. She is also very fierce when she is angry, and if you are the cause of her anger you should run away fast!
Violent: Although she may not look like it, Em is more violent than most horses. When her temper is up she could charge and beat a horse half to death if she thinks they deserved it. Despite her size she is very strong and you don't want to add adrenaline to that.
Sarcastic: Em tackles almost everything with sarcasm. And often she's even pretty funny if you can handle the sharp sarcastic combacks. Sometimes it's even hard to know what she really means and she can be very hard to read.
History:
Em was born within the Olde herd. She had snobby assed parents who believed fiercely in the great unicorn. They raised Em to be the perfect mare. When Em was just a colt she believed as well, but when she grew into her teens she started to ask questions, and because of scarce answers she started to doubt.
One faitful day, Em reached her tipping point. She was only thirteen. The whole herd was in the city when a couple of messengers started running around telling horses that the lead mare and stallion wanted everyone to meet in the fields for something. Em, along with her parents, started to move with the herd towards the fields. The horses started to chatter excitedly about what the lead mare and stallion had in mind. The whole herd joined on the "main street", like a large river, when one of the horses in the front yelled something about the unicorns being back. There was a stampede. Every single horse within the herd started running along the main street towards the fields, except Em. She got trampled over by almost the whole herd, including her parents. She got thrown down on the ground and someone stepped so hard on her behind that they broke her tail and she got a huge wound on her left thigh. No one stopped to help her. No one even noticed. Everyone were thinking about the comeback of the unicorns. When the whole herd had gone, Em had a hard time getting up on her feet, but eventually limped off into the woods.
She reluctantly returned to the herd when her wounds healed, but her way of thinking had been changed forever. Since this day, she has been actively fighting against the system. She has vandalised some sacred trees and basically become a rebel. Her parents have disowned her because they are self-acclaimed the greatest believers.
Her greatest ambition is to get into the Exile herd on the Southern Isle, where she hopes to be treated with the respect of an equal, but so far she hasn't had the chance to leave the Island of Olde, or the herd.
Extra:
- Em's mane would naturally be super long and thick if she didn't periodically rub it against sharp stones to keep it as short as possible. It's harder to keep the bangs as short as the rest of her mane, which is why they are slightly longer and she's always shaking them out of her eyes.
